The Surrey Ark is a unique, small, independent, local, fully qualified, trained and experienced, independent, small, family run Cat/Pet Care and Dog Walking company operating in the Claygate area, within 2 miles.  We are not a chain, with us it's personal. We are caring professionals, have over 10 years' experience walking a variety of dogs and caring for many lovely local cats and other pets.

We are professionally trained having

graduated from Guildford College with qualifications in Animal Management BTec Level 3, Canine First Aid trained, fully insured, caring and with great references and over 10 years' experience.

Sue, our Level 6 fully qualified Dog Behaviourist runs the team and trains all of our very experienced walkers with new dogs to meet the needs of each particular dog. All dogs are different and have their own needs.  We will walk reactive dogs if we have assessed them, so email for details of prices.

We offer a premium dog walking service unlike most other companies. We mainly offer a solo dog walk. We operate discreetly and our workers are experienced, highly conscientious animal lovers who will rarely walk more than 2 dogs at once unless we know they are a good match and you are happy about this.  Dogs in large groups can easily become excitable, potentially causing a problem among the group or to members of the public, walking their dogs. With The Surrey Ark, you know that your dog will never be paired with a dog they don't get along with, which is a rare promise these days as most dog walkers are walking multiple dogs at a time who change regularly. We encourage human/dog communications and have a lot of fun and games with them so that they learn to listen to us and form a strong bond with a regular walker. We are a small team of  10 currently, as consistency of your walker builds trust in your pet and also allows us to help cover for each other for holidays or illness.  We get to know your dog's personality, their likes and dislikes as individuals and can work on any issues and give them what they enjoy most. We use unmarked cars and therefore do not advertise that you are out, nor do we drive your dog around or leave them sitting in crowded vans for long periods,  which many dogs find very stressful especially during the hot days. We collect your dog from home and drop them back, clean, and happy, afterwards. Many of our regular clients have been with us now since we started 10 years ago.  We currently have a waiting list for new clients but get in touch as this changes all the time.
